Pink Eye

July 2, 2009

Turns out, if you rub yogurt in your eye, it can create a bacterial infection. So, Dom and I visited Dr. Beesly who gave us (and when I say us, I mean the entire family since pink eye is highly contagious) some antibiotic eye drops.  The good news is that Dom was in a great mood for the entire visit, we got to weigh him in (he’s currently 22 lbs, 5 ounces of purely nommable, zerbitable baby steak), and I realized that this was only the second doctor’s trip I’ve had to make outside of the routine checkups.

Another Milestone

June 4, 2009

Dominik got his third tooth today.  I told him as soon as he has 4, we’re ordering pizza (because as you can see from the picture, he’s clearly not eating enough).

Dominik vs. Camera 2: The Wrath Of Scarlett

Actually It Was A Parody…

May 19, 2009

Dominik was making fun of A-Rod’s spread in Details Magazine. Can you see the similarity?

ARodStinks!

Yet another great example of a sports figure setting a bad example for today’s youth.

Kissing

May 19, 2009

Today when I got home from work, Dominik seemed fascinated by himself in the mirror.

AmICaught

Upon closer inspection, I realized he was practicing his kissing techniques (did you hear that, Sarah Ann?).

FrenchingRules

Dominik has never been shy about showing affection.

IAmSoGoodLooking!

Too bad for him that he’s not allowed to date for 19 more years.

Army Crawl

May 1, 2009

While Scarlett is scooting and crawling and chasing the cats around the house, Dominik hasn’t yet mastered these skills.

Although he gets himself into position,

and he’s got perfect form,

for now he seems to prefer staying on his belly as he pulls himself forward with his arms and pushes with his little feet.

We call it the Army Crawl.

Red Sox Babies

April 12, 2009

Sunday April 12th was a big day for  Dominik as we headed out to catch Dominik’s first Red Sox game. West Coast transplants like us have limited opportunities to see the Sox live so even though it’s not Fenway I decided it would be okay if Dom’s first Sox game was at  Angel Stadium. Scarlett had plans with Mom so she’s hoping to catch her first game in May when the Sox come back through town but she still threw on her Red Sox onsie to show her support.

We got there in time for batting practice and Dominik was hoping to make a barehanded catch for a foul ball and get an autograph but the Sox were all business this game and no stray balls landed near us.

Fellow Sox fan Emma jumped at the chance to catch the game with us and help out with Dominik.

I have to admit I was a little worried about how Dom would do at the park but he had a really good time.

Also, I have to say Angel Stadium has very usable changing tables in the Men’s room so changing diapers wasn’t hard at all. Dom even tried quite a few bites of fresh pretzel (no salt), and was even able to take a few naps despite the boisterous Angels fans yelling, “GO HOME RED SOX!” (I guess they’re still miffed about getting knocked out of the playoffs two years in a row).

Dominik hasn’t quite got the whole sports rivalry thing down yet as he used his bedroom eyes to flirt with an Angels fan in front of us.

I guess I should be glad she’s not a Yankees fan… :-)

Crab Crawl

April 4, 2009

A lot has happened in the last couple of weeks.  First, our good friends Ryan and Sally had their baby girl!  Check her out on their blog. The biggest news in our lives is that Scarlett is crawling.  Unfortunately, she’s so fast we haven’t been able to capture more than a blur on camera.  Here are some photos from a Twinkle Time concert we went to last weekend with our friend Ryley and a play date we had with Kalvin.

We also did some recession shopping.  New shoes two sizes too big for upcoming walkers: $9.00!

8 Month-Olds!

March 12, 2009

The twins turned 8 months old on Tuesday and the firsts keep coming.

Scarlett likes to play peekaboo with Mom

Scarlett can hold herself up in the crib now. Mom is lurking off to the side because they were playing peek-a-boo.

Fang Attack!Dominik (or as I lovingly call him now Fang) likes to use his new tooth to suck the life out of apples.  His 2nd tooth just popped through too.

Retail Is For SuckersAnd of course the first that every twin looks forward to. The shopping cart seats at Costco that seat two! Now that the twins have tasted the sweet nectar of wholesale they’ll never pay retail again.
