Jumpy Jump

July 24, 2009

One of the most fun parts about being a toddler is that you get invited to other toddler’s birthday parties.  Today our friend Payton turned two so Scarlett and I headed over to her party and played with all her toys!  Also, it was Scarlett’s first time in a jumpy jump.  She liked it for about 10 seconds.

Go Scarlett Sox!

May 14, 2009

Dominik got to go to his first baseball game when the Red Sox were in town last month so this month it was Scarlett’s turn. She was appropriately attired in cap, Red Sox onesie, and Red Sox socks for her first game.

It was a very long, hard fought game.  It went 12 innings and lasted just over four hours but Scarlett’s enthusiasm never flagged.

Go Scarlett!

The game was tied up for a long time. The Red Sox had many, many opportunities to score and win but couldn’t really seem to seal the deal. They left 17 men on base and lost when Manny Delcarmen gave up a walk-off double in the bottom of the twelfth inning. At least Scarlett had a very authentic introduction to what it’s like to be a Red Sox fan. Thanks to Dan, Kris and Emma who suffered through the traffic with us to endure the marathon of baseball only to watch our beloved Sox lose.
Go Sawx!

After the game, as the Angels’ fans were gloating Scarlett raised her finger as if to say, “We’re still #1 chumps! I have two words for you Angels fans: Post Season.”

I’m pretty sure if it hadn’t been nap time I might have had to stop her from starting a fight.

Scarlett Stands

April 12, 2009

While Dom and Dad went to the Red Sox game, Scarlett and I drove to Thousand Oaks to visit with Lulu and Aunt Kristin.

While we were there Scarlett pulled herself up and stood for approximately 3 seconds.  Unfortunately, I didn’t have the camera with me, but it was an amazing sight.

All of the friends and excitement and gymnastics were a bit overwhelming,

and Scarlett konked out before the party was over.  She’s going to have to learn to pace herself.

Crab Crawl

April 4, 2009

A lot has happened in the last couple of weeks.  First, our good friends Ryan and Sally had their baby girl!  Check her out on their blog. The biggest news in our lives is that Scarlett is crawling.  Unfortunately, she’s so fast we haven’t been able to capture more than a blur on camera.  Here are some photos from a Twinkle Time concert we went to last weekend with our friend Ryley and a play date we had with Kalvin.

We also did some recession shopping.  New shoes two sizes too big for upcoming walkers: $9.00!

A Future In Music?

March 15, 2009

Scarlett took a moment to show off her drumming skills she learned at music class at the kiddy drum circle at the farmers market.

8 Month-Olds!

March 12, 2009

The twins turned 8 months old on Tuesday and the firsts keep coming.

Scarlett likes to play peekaboo with Mom

Scarlett can hold herself up in the crib now. Mom is lurking off to the side because they were playing peek-a-boo.

Fang Attack!Dominik (or as I lovingly call him now Fang) likes to use his new tooth to suck the life out of apples.  His 2nd tooth just popped through too.

Retail Is For SuckersAnd of course the first that every twin looks forward to. The shopping cart seats at Costco that seat two! Now that the twins have tasted the sweet nectar of wholesale they’ll never pay retail again.

Scarlett’s First Cart Ride

February 17, 2009

Now that she has abs of steel (well she can hold herself upright anyway) we can strap Scarlett in when we go to Target. This will greatly simplify our shopping excursions at least until her arms get long enough to grab stuff off the shelf. Then we’ll really be in trouble.
