Social Smile or Gas?

August 31, 2008

While it’s nice to finally be getting some smiles out of the babies, many people tell us this expression is simply a result of gas.  What do you think?

Life Saver.

Auntie Kristin has been visiting from Boston and spent the majority of her vacation helping me with the twins.  She became an expert at bottle feeding and changing guacamole poo diapers. Thank goodness for family!

7 Weeks Old Today!

August 28, 2008

Scarlett and Dominik turn 7 weeks old today.

It’s also my friend Randy’s birthday (pictured above, right).  He and I share a love of Cute Overload. Happy Birthday, Randy!

Stuffed Duck.

August 26, 2008

Today we got a visit from our friend Sarah Ann who brought us a beautifully gigantic stuffed duck that the twins can ride around on when they get older.  I’ll be sure to get a picture of it soon.

Wrong Impression.

August 25, 2008

Mostly we take pictures of the twins that look like this because they’re cute.  But recently I realized we might be giving the wrong impression – that raising twins is easy.

This is more realistic:

Mind Blown. Ears Not.

August 22, 2008

The other day I was working on my computer wearing headphones and I wondered what it would be like for Dominik who was in the bouncy bjorn by me feet to hear some good stereo. So I picked a instrumental track from a sound track and let it rip. At low volume. He immediately became very attentive and alert. Moments later Beth came in an chided me that I could be hurting his ears.

So I did a little research and found this link on National Geographic.

Anybody else giving their kids an auditory treat?

Our Jowls Came In!

August 20, 2008

Today we visited a lactation consultant at the Pump Station because Scarlett has become a fussy eater. Turns out, Dominik is such a robust suckler that he’s increasing my milk supply and it’s overwhelming his sister.  The good news is, both babies are growing at a healthy rate. Dominik weighed in at 9 pounds, 8 ounces (causing his Aunt Kristin to start calling him El Gigante) and Scarlett weighed in at 8 pounds, one ounce.

Gramps n’ Granny 2

August 15, 2008

On Friday my Mom and Dad finally had a chance to break from jetting around Europe for work to come see the grandkids! Dominik and Scarlett were their usual charming selves and submitted to lots of holding and “oohing” and “aaahing.”

5 Weeks Old Today!

August 14, 2008

Today we celebrated the twins’ 5 week birthday by taking them out for breakfast. We loaded them in the Snap N’ Go, walked down to the Alcove, and got lots of attention over coffee and bagels.

Training for 2012 Now.

M.J. prepares for our morning walk with some babylifts. The nice thing about twins is that it’s an even workout so you don’t have to worry about uneven muscle development.
